The Chartered Community of Navarra enjoys a privileged geographical location which brings together a great variety of landforms and climates and therefore a rich mosaic of ecosystems.
The region can be divided up into three zones: The mountainous area to the north, exemplified by the Baztan Valley, the middle zone with a gentler landscape cut through by ravines like the Lumbier and Arbayún gorges, and the Ribera, to the south, with its flat but stepped landscapes peppered with small lakes and fertile meadows along the river Ebro.
